On International Women’s Day, I like to honor the empowered women that empower me. From my mom, to my sister, to my closest girlfriends, to my amazing community on Instagram (let’s be friends if we aren’t already – find me at @emikfabian). I am truly blessed to have a life enriched by the presence of so many strong individuals! This year, I am honored to once again be working alongside Vera Bradley as we collectively share the latest collaboration with New Hope Girls. This amazing Dominican Republic-based organization’s mission is to empower and uplift women, truly an amazing cause.

The New Hope Girls organization assists women and girls out of the darkest times in their lives and provided them safety and education. Their on-site workshop allows women to provide for their families with dignity and providing hope that cycles may be broken. All women are paid a fair wage for their work as they hand make the beautiful bags which make up this meaningful collaboration.
The purchase of these bags directly supports the women of New Hope Girls – 75% of the purchase price is donated directly to the organization. Last year, the collection sold out within a matter of days. Should the bag you were hoping to purchase be sold out, I highly recommend checking out the other beautiful designs by New Hope Girls.
New Hope Girls – New Hope Butterfly Collection
This year, Vera Bradley x New Hope Girls are celebrating their fourth collaboration together, with the release of “New Hope Butterflies.” This stunning limited-edition pattern features the butterfly as a symbol of hope and transformation. The girls and women in the Dominican Republic are welcomed into a home where they are allowed to rise above their pasts and fly towards their dreams.
What makes these bags even more special are the detailed interior pattern titled “Created for More.” Featured on the inside of the bag are The New Hope Girls’ handwriting reading “created for more.” This a powerful reminder of all these individuals have overcome and reminder of the real individuals each bag’s purchase is supporting.
Brand new to the collaboration this year, there’s a special Hobo Bag with only 100 created, titled the New Hope Butterfly Patchwork. Not only does this bag feature the handwriting of the girls, but the denim used in the bags is recycled from the women selling jeans to support their families. This specialty-crafted design is truly helping make dreams come true!
This year’s collection features the Hobo Bag, the limited edition Hobo Bag, Medium Travel Duffle, Cosmetic Bag and two beautiful bracelets from Pura Vida (one with a charm and one without.)
Whether you feel compelled to make a purchase to support New Hope Girls today or remember them for an upcoming gifting opportunity later this year, I ask you to keep this organization in mind for future donations and prayer this year.
Let me know in the comments which bag is your favorite from the latest collaboration!
