“It’s pronounced ‘Emi’ like the awards.”
– Probably me at Starbucks
Hi, I’m Emi and I’m so glad you’ve found your way to Preppy and Pink! Here I share colorful, classic and feminine fashion, all while living in North Carolina. I love a good trend here and there, but at the end of the day: I’m all about putting a preppy spin on things. Hopefully I can provide a source of inspiration or simply brighten your day!
My Blog’s Story
Growing up, fashion was a major way I connected with my parents. Any time I had on a great outfit on growing up, the phrase “my dad helped me pick this out” was said. Back-to school is (and was) one of my favorite times a year because my mom would take my siblings and I to the mall, we’d shop all day and always get lunch together. Truthfully, some of my happiest memories are spending time at the mall with them – or even going shopping at the outlets as I was auditioning for college musical theater programs. About 10 years ago, I ended up going through a tough time medically and my body changed as a result. I was scared because I didn’t know what was going on, but my parents continued to take me shopping, so no matter what I had a few go-to outfits that made me feel confident. Truthfully, I think that was the first time I consciously realized the power of fashion.
All throughout college and into the early part of my career (I produced network TV in NYC and at the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street) I was always getting compliments on my outfits and my style. Living in NYC, you tend to encounter a lot of chic all-black outfits and very little seersucker; needless to say: I stuck out.
At the encouragement of my close friends, roommates and even co-workers: I decided to create Preppy and Pink in the summer of 2017!
Right now, my blog isn’t my full-time job and is truly my greatest hobby! I joke around that I work a 9-5 in marketing and a 5-9 as a blogger. I love the creativity this space brings, as well as the amazing friends I’ve made because of it.
Currently, I live with my husband and French Bulldog in North Carolina. When I’m not blogging, you will probably find me taking some sort of fitness class, spending time with friends or simply soaking up life as a newly-wed!
Thanks for following along! I’m so grateful for you š
