Fall is finally here and it’s time to bust out those jewel-tones, ladies!
It’s still a little warm in NYC – this past week we almost hit 90 degrees. So I’m still having to get creative with fall-inspired outfits these days. Not rushing the cool weather though, once it’s here. I’ll be dreaming of summer breezes, so taking this transition weather in strides.
One of my favorite go-to colors for fall is olive. It’s truly one of the only colors that are complimentary on all skin tones and I feel like it really embodies everything about the season. Regardless of what the thermometer says outside, this color is bound to get you in the mood to sip a PSL or a glass of spiced wine.
Pro tip: if you have a smaller chest, look for dresses with high necklines that are gathered at the top of the neck.
This creates an illusion of a fuller top and will also make your waist appear to be smaller (aka double win).
I’m always looking for pieces that can be transitioned from day to night easily and this dress checks all the boxes!
You can wear this piece solo or to make it feel more casual and festive. Feel free to pair it with a floppy hat. I’m personally a fan of how the cranberry color of this hat pops against the olive tones to create a warm, fall palette. You could even throw a denim jacket over your shoulders to give the ensemble street-style approved look. That’s the beauty of lace: it can easily dress up or down depending on how it’s accessorized.
One of the things I personally love about fall is the ability to play with the best of the end-of-summer fashion and mix it with autumn vibes. Allow yourself to mix and match and play around with looks and textures to make it your own!
