I’m also OBSESSED with the adorable selection of Target dresses! Between the recent collaborations with Who What Wear and the new standard lines such as A New Day, I feel like Target has really created a space for affordable and fashionable pieces for everyone!

Target Dresses: Midi and Maxi Dresses
As a petite woman – I’m 5’3” – there was a very long period of time where I believed maxi dresses were not for me. I always believed that only people with long legs or torsos could wear this style. Boy, have I been wrong!
Not only does Target have an excellent selection of maxi dresses for all bodies, but they also have an amazing collection of midi dresses (these are perfect for spring and summer!) One of my favorite ways to wear longer dresses that don’t need to be tailored is to add midi dresses into my spring and summer wardrobe. Lucky for all us petite gals: midi dresses are really having a moment and are readily available!

Tips for Styling a Midi and Maxi Dress
Sometimes styling a longer dress, or even a dress with less structure can feel overwhelming; especially if you do find yourself in the petite category. Have no fear: I have played around with to so many different dresses, cuts and styles and am sharing my three favorite tips for wearing longer dresses:
Belt the Dress!
When you belt your dress, on average you will shorten the piece an inch, which sometimes can be the perfect amount of “hemming” which will save you a trip to the tailor. Target also has a fantastic selection of belts ranging from thin belts to ones will larger statement buckles, like the white one I’m wearing with my yellow midi dress
Add Chunky Sneakers
White sneakers and cute dresses are having a moment – everyone’s feet rejoice! I’m loving how my Kate Spade x Keds sneakers look with all of these outfits and give them a new purpose following my wedding (I originally bought them to be my receptions shoes.)
Add Espadrilles or Open Toe Wedges
When in doubt: add a heel! I’ve found in the spring and summer I’m spending more time outside and a traditional stiletto or pump isn’t always my favorite pick. Epsadrilles and wedges are always a good pick: there’s a wider base for even weight distribution and they’re more comfortable because of this!
