I don’t know about you, but when the weather starts getting warmer, I get so excited about wearing all the pastels and bright colors for spring. There’s something about floral prints, gingham tops and white denim that just makes me all kinds of excited!
Recently, I did a poll on my Instagram and the results were split right down the middle on neutrals and colors for spring. It took me by surprise for a second, but the more I thought about it, the more everything made sense: colors can be really challenging to style!
When I initially started wearing a lot of bold colors, it definitely was a transition. I remember being afraid of what people would say and that my outfit was “too much.” What I started doing was pairing very classic outfits and gradually adding in more colorful elements. One day I wore a brighter shirt with jeans, the next day a pair of fun earrings… until eventually everything felt like second nature. I even began to get compliments on how fun my outfits were, which made me want to keep experimenting with color combinations.
Enter Hush Puppies Shoes!
I’ve always known about Hush Puppies’ shoes from my mom, but until this season had never owned a pair of my own. When the brand approached me about their newly re-deigned Wren Loafer, I couldn’t resist trying out a pair. Let me tell you: these shoes are so comfortable, and I love that the suede is water resistant – so perfect for the rain showers that pop up on Long Island in March and April. I love that the minute I took them out of the box they were ready to be worn and didn’t need to be broken in. I do a lot of walking and am on me feet constantly, so this was a wonderful surprise!
Spring Outfit Style Tip
Looking for an easy style tip with adding bright color to your wardrobe? Have your outfit appear balanced by offsetting your accent piece with another accessory in a similar color. For example, wearing a fun headband or hair scarf in a similar shade as your Wren Loafers, will automatically make your outfit feel tied together perfectly!
